Dr. Solabomi graduated from medical school in her native Nigeria in 2012, and became ECFMG certified 6 years later in 2018. With a very low Step 1 score (including 4 attempts across USMLE’s) Dr. Solabomi’s U.S. medical residency candidacy proved quite challenging.
We gave Dr. Solabomi the customized preparation she needed to successfully interview for an unaccredited PGY-1 position. These unique residencies allow medical school graduates like Dr. Solabomi to gain critical clinical experience while demonstrating their determination and commitment to Program Directors.

During her yearlong unaccredited residency, Dr. Solabomi proved herself to be a strong clinician and integrated extremely well with her fellow physicians. With her strong LOR’s Dr. Solabomi was offered a Categorical PGY-1 residency in her preferred specialty of Internal Medicine.
