Christina Gainey graduated from Duke University with a degree in Public Policy. She initially planned on attending law school, but fell in love with medicine and decided to pursue it despite having no science background. She took two years off to work in a biomedical engineering lab studying melanoma biology/ femtosecond laser imaging.
She is now a 4th year medical student at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. In her free time she loves yoga, guitar, and eating all kinds of new foods. Also in her free time, she built an antibiotic decision app, abxDX, which is available on the AppStore. She is currently applying into Internal Medicine and plans to pursue a fellowship in Gastroenterology in the future.
