Non-US IMGs Globally Suffered This Match, But Can Still Land Residency

Is This You?
Residents Medical works with a specific set of candidates. If one of these describes you, we can help.
International Medical Graduate (IMG)
You earned your MD outside the U.S. and are navigating ERAS, ECFMG, and the NRMP Match. You need U.S. clinical experience and a pathway into an ACGME program.
Unmatched — 1 to 4+ Cycles
You've done everything right — USMLE scores, rotations, ERAS applications — and still haven't matched. You need structural access to programs, not just another application review.
U.S. Graduate Needing a Pathway
You graduated from a U.S. or Caribbean medical school but didn't match or are seeking a more competitive specialty. You want a clear, guided path — not a waiting game.
Visa-Dependent Candidate
You need a program that sponsors J-1 or H-1B visas. Our affiliated hospital network includes programs actively accepting international candidates with visa support.
How Residents Medical Works
Unlike application consultants who hand you tools and wish you luck, we physically place you inside an affiliated hospital — so program directors know and trust you before they decide.
Free Profile Assessment
A Residency Specialist — an MD or PhD — reviews your full profile: USMLE scores, graduation year, clinical experience, specialty goals, and visa status. You leave with a clear picture of your options and a realistic pathway forward.
Custom Pathway Designed
Based on your profile, we build a tailored package: USMLE prep with the edYOU AI platform, targeted clinical rotations, ERAS application support, and interview preparation. Every component serves one goal — your match.
Program Integration — You're Inside
This is what makes us different. We embed you into an affiliated teaching hospital residency program for months — not weeks. You work alongside residents, interact with attendings, and prove yourself directly to the program director who will eventually decide your fate.
Interview, Match & Placement
Candidates who perform well during integration earn interviews and residency offers — through pre-match, post-match, or off-cycle positions. We work year-round. Your match doesn't depend on a single March deadline.

What IMGs Ask Before They Book
How is Residents Medical different from an application consultant?
Application consultants help you improve your paperwork and re-enter the open NRMP Match. Residents Medical does something structurally different: we physically embed you inside an affiliated hospital residency program. You're not submitting an application and hoping — you're working alongside residents, interacting with attending physicians, and building a direct relationship with the program director who will decide whether to offer you a position.
I've failed the match 2–3 times. Can you still help me?
Yes — and this is actually our most common candidate profile. Most of the 2,000+ doctors we've placed came to us after one or more failed match cycles. Program integration is specifically designed to address the barriers that cause repeated non-matches: lack of U.S. clinical relationships, graduation year (YOG) penalties, and limited program director exposure. If you've failed before, our model is built for you.
Do I need to wait for the NRMP Match in March?
No. Residents Medical operates year-round. We place candidates through pre-match offers, post-match scramble (SOAP), and off-cycle positions — residency slots that open throughout the year outside the main match. You don't have to wait 12 months to try again.
What happens on my first consultation call?
A Residency Specialist — an MD or PhD on our team — will review your complete profile: USMLE scores, graduation year, U.S. clinical experience, specialty goals, and visa status. You'll leave with a clear assessment of your options, which programs may be realistic for you, and a recommended pathway. There is no commitment or obligation from the call.
Do you help with visa sponsorship (J-1 / H-1B)?
Yes. Our affiliated hospital network includes programs that actively accept international candidates and sponsor both J-1 and H-1B visas. Visa availability by specialty and program is something we discuss directly during your consultation, where we can identify which programs in our network match your visa requirements.
How long does program integration typically last?
Integration is a long-term engagement — typically several months. The goal is for the program director and key decision-makers to observe your clinical work, know your personality, and build confidence in your abilities before extending an interview or offer. This is what distinguishes it from a 4–8 week rotation, where there is rarely enough time for that relationship to form.
