Dr. Karthik Iyer is a passionate Step 1, 2, and 3 tutor who left a guaranteed dermatology residency position for his true purpose. From a young age, he knew that medicine was his gift and talent and, as a result, attended a 6 year BS/MD medical program at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
After graduating in the top 10% of his class at the age of 23 years old, he completed an internal medicine preliminary position at Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Hospital and, afterward, was accepted into a psoriasis dermatology research fellowship at George Washington Medical Faculty Associates with a residency track. However, he had been working as a USMLE Tutor during this time and, after taking his Step 3 exam, realized that his true calling was USMLE Tutoring. He left his dermatology position to become a full-time tutor to break down and teach others his strategies that allowed him to score a 273 on the Step 2CK exam. Outside of USMLE tutoring, his passions include languages (French and Spanish), soccer, and human/behavioral psychology.
